Woman to Woman: Spotlight On... Nashville Trendsetter Stacie Standifer!

This passionate and fearless founder of Nashville Lifestyles (which she also ran as Publisher and Editor to boot) is the preeminent authority on all things Southern, especially when it comes to her hometown of Nashville. She now spends her time consulting for top brands, writing for national publications and traveling with Grammy Award-winning husband, Tim Nichols. Here’s your backstage access to this Music City legend.

YOUR MUSIC CITY STYLE ICON...

This has changed over time but I don't think anyone has ever been as chic in jeans or breezy resort wear as Nashville's own Faith Hill. She also rocks couture in such a genuine way. I love that she's not afraid to take chances with her look just like fellow Nashvillian, Holly Williams, owner of top fashion haunt, H. Audrey. Holly's sense of style is so approachable. She's a great inspiration for others.

YOUR FAVORITE BEIJA-FLOR STYLE...

So easy! I love the Kelly for the ease of slipping them on and off and never having to worry about hardware. Easy to wash, pack and super comfy to wear on a plane or long car ride. The best travel pants, ever!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK...

I am very fortunate to have such a variety of things going on at any given time. It's never boring, and I am always finding out something new and interesting to share with both clients and readers. I am forever curious, so I try to choose projects that feed that part of my spirit.

A PROFESSIONAL MILESTONE...

Developing, engaging and empowering women in their lives and careers. It's been so rewarding to watch people I initially hired, flourish and develop their talents. Some of my dearest friendships have also come from the process. I can't imagine it being any sweeter.

YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT...

Maintaining a great relationship with my family despite any hurdles along the way and finally finding a true partner in life after going through a few rough times in love.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BEAUTIFUL...

When there's no chaos and I have time to unwind and spend some quiet time with my husband. He's good about making those moments count, and making me feel great, no matter what. I also feel pretty fantastic after an indulgent facial with Susan Ciminelli in NYC or Sonya Dakar in LA -- they are miracle workers!

ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 22 YEAR OLD SELF...

Embrace your mistakes, as they are never ending. Don't worry about how to clean them up but instead focus on what you can learn from them and apply in your life going forward. And don’t forget the importance of forgiveness and how little being angry does for anyone. Life is too short, seriously.
