Woman to Woman: Spotlight On... Former Miss South Carolina, Erika Grace Powell!

This former Miss South Carolina (Miss America and Miss USA pageants) is the quintessential triple-threat. Beautiful, quick witted and talented, Erika Grace Powell divides her time between performing with the New York Philharmonic, interviewing celebrities on the red carpet, and serving as the co-host of #NASHTV America's Morning Show. She even finds a little time to model for her favorite denim brand... Beija-Flor! Get to know this always captivating Beija-Believer in our latest Spotlight!

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BEAUTIFUL...

GOOD LIGHTING!!! HA! Whoever invented fluorescents should be forced to live in Wal-Mart... forever.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK...

I love that every day is different. I am a very flexible person and love elements of change. From interviewing celebrities and other entertainment personalities or performers, to blogging about various topics, to photo shoots and modeling, my day is a myriad of wonderful colors and opportunities that keep me on my toes and in love with whatever is NEXT!

ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 22 YEAR OLD SELF...

Enjoy the journey. JOURNAL! Take account of the progress you make and life lessons you learn along the way.

YOUR FASHION ICON...

Blake Lively!  This girl gets it done with structured pieces and flawless transitions between her red carpet and daytime looks. She is always successful at highlighting her figure all the while in a seemingly comfortable wardrobe choice (pregnant or not).  Her style paired with hot hubby, Ryan Reynolds is just on another level. I love following her blog on Preserve, too.

YOUR FAVORITE BEIJA-FLOR STYLE...

Come on! I love them all! But if I had to choose one, I think I'd have to go with the original, Jennifer.  I love the classic lines, they make your legs look super long and lean. And I love that Jennifer comes in that amazing new Emana fabric.  I'm always on the run so anything that makes my legs look and feel better at the end of a grueling day is a win-win for me!

YOU RELIEVE STRESS BY...

Spending time outdoors with my dog, Ginger (love her to pieces)! Ginger is a rescue and part Italian Greyhound, so she loves to run and go for walks. I find that because I am in a studio a lot with work, it helps me tremendously to finish my days with a hike. Having a dog that enjoys time in the sunshine with me is so much fun!

YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT...

I am grateful to have experienced and celebrated numerous "successful" moments in my lifetime, but I don't know that one particular moment could or should be dubbed my greatest achievement.  Maintaining a balance between those chart-topping moments while still living my life might actually be my greatest achievement. I'm always focused on achieving the balance of being down to earth and yet consistently goal orientated.

WHEN YOU WERE A KID, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP...

A great many things... A Doctor (until I realized I didn't possess an abundant amount of patience or bedside manner). A Vet (until I learned that the pain of losing a pet would be something you would face daily). At the end of the day, a role in an entertainment field with a microphone of some kind has always been the truest reflection of me. I am the consummate one woman show... I think I had more bedtime sing-a-longs than bedtime stories as a child!
